The deadline for entering the "Phase 1" eligible players for the 2010 Yonex European Championships has now passed - and the "Phase 2" eligible players have been invited.
New champions are guarenteed in four of the events, as only Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen will be defending their title in Manchester.

Today it was announced which players are eligible to participate at the 2010 Yonex European Championships in Manchester, England.
40 European countries can be represented in Manchester - but it all depends on whether the national associations decide to accept the invitations send out today.
On 5 March the "phase 2"-players will be announced.

BADMINTON England’s most successful female player, Olympic silver medallist and former World and European Champion, Gail Emms MBE, is backing the country’s young guns to make a big impression at April’s Yonex European Individual Badminton Championships in Manchester, and predicts that the new crop of talent will help England fulfil their ambition of becoming the best badminton nation in the world.
Former silver medallists at the World Junior Championships, Gabby White and Chris Adcock, are some of the future stars in English badminton.
